Step 1: Choose How You Want to Start

Option A: You’re Ready to Build

If you already know the rod type you want, or you’re ready to move forward and finalize details with a builder, start with the reservation. This is the fastest way to secure your spot.

Reserve Your Build Spot

Reservation is credited toward your final total.

Option B: You Want Guidance First

If you’re not sure which blank, length, power, action, or layout fits your fishing, submit a build request. We’ll review it and help you choose the right setup.

Fill Out Build Request Form

Either path leads to the same outcome: a rod designed around how you fish, with full clarity on specs, pricing, and timeline before we move forward.

Step 2: Build Planning and Confirmation

This is where your rod becomes real. We confirm what you’re targeting, how you fish, and what the rod needs to do on the water. Then we finalize the build details:

  • Starting platform: a proven Prolite build or a full custom direction
  • Blank selection: length, power, action, and technique fit
  • Handle system: comfort, leverage, balance, and durability
  • Guide layout: spacing and performance tuning
  • Finishing: wraps, decals, and personalization

You will review and approve the full build specifications and the total price before any remaining balance is collected.

Step 3: The Rod Building Process

Once your build is approved, your rod enters the Prolite build schedule. Here is what happens in the shop:

  1. Blank inspection and prep: we inspect the blank, spine and alignment considerations, and prep for component fit.
  2. Handle fit and balance: we fit and shape components to match your layout and performance goals.
  3. Guide layout and spacing: guides are placed and tuned for proper line flow and technique performance.
  4. Wraps and finishing: wraps are applied cleanly and sealed with finish, then cured properly.
  5. Final inspection: alignment, finish quality, and component security are checked before shipment.

This isn’t assembly-line work. Every Prolite rod is built with the same standards we demand on the water.

Timeline and What to Expect

Most custom builds are completed in 2–4 weeks after final specification confirmation.

30-Day Custom Build Guarantee: Your rod will enter production within 30 days of final specification confirmation.

During peak season or show season, timelines may extend slightly. If that happens, we keep you informed so you always know where your build stands.

Delivery

When your rod is complete, we package it in a secure shipping tube and ship it to your door, or we can arrange local pickup if you’re nearby.

Before it ships, your rod goes through final inspection for alignment, wrap quality, finish consistency, and component security.
