How to Order a Custom Prolite Rod

Building a custom rod is easier than most people think. At Prolite, we keep the process simple, personal, and hands-on so you always know what happens next.

Step 1: Choose How You Want to Start

Every angler starts in one of two places. You either know exactly what you want, or you want help choosing the right setup. Both paths work.

Option A: You Already Know What You Want

If you know your blank, length, power, action, or you are trying to recreate a favorite rod, start with the Custom Builder form. This sends your specs directly to our builders so we can confirm parts, pricing, and timing.

Option B: You Want Help Choosing

If you are not sure which blank or layout is right for your fishing, that is normal. Most anglers start here. All we need is your name and phone number and a builder will reach out to design the rod with you.

Send Name and Phone

Step 2: We Review Your Build

Once we receive your specs from the Custom Builder form or your basic contact info, a Prolite builder reviews everything. We:

  • Look at how and where you fish.
  • Confirm blank choice and component compatibility.
  • Reach out with any questions before moving forward.

This step makes sure your build is accurate and matches what you want the rod to do on the water.

Step 3: Parts Confirmation and Invoice

After the design is locked in, we:

  • Finalize the parts list for your build.
  • Confirm pricing for parts and labor.
  • Send you a clear invoice by email.

Once the invoice is paid, your spot in the build queue is reserved and we can order or pull any components needed.

Step 4: Your Rod Enters the Build Queue

With your invoice complete, your rod moves into the Prolite build schedule. In the shop we:

  • Inspect and prep your blank.
  • Lay out guides for the correct spacing and performance.
  • Fit and shape handle components to your layout.
  • Wrap guides, apply finish, and let everything cure properly.

Every custom rod is built in Washington with the same care and attention we put into the rods we fish ourselves.

Step 5: Final Inspection and Delivery

Before your rod leaves the shop, it goes through a full inspection:

  • Guide alignment and wrap quality are checked.
  • Finish and epoxy are inspected for clean, even coverage.
  • Handle and components are tested and cleaned.

We then package your rod in a secure shipping tube or arrange local pickup, depending on what works best for you.
